Course

The Clearwater Half Marathon is one of the most challenging half marathon in Florida, with ascents over two very tall bridges (Clearwater Memorial Bridge and The Sand Key Bridge) which connect Clearwater to the barrier islands. It is also an extremely scenic race as the entire course is within1/4 mile of Clearwater Bay and / or the Gulf of Mexico.

The Marathon course, which is mostly flat, starts at Coachman Park on Clearwater's waterfront and heads through downtown and over the Clearwater Bridge. The route continues fownhill towards the award-winning Clearwater Beach and then heads south to the Sand Key Bridge. Next up is Gulf Boulevard and into Sand Key Park, before runners return to Gulf Boulevard for the next 9 miles, touring through exclusive residential and commercial gulf-front neighborhoods.

The course turns inland over Park Boulevard Bridge and heads down tree-canopied Oakhurst Road to the Pinellas Trail, a paved, rails-to-trails linear park which spans the length of Pinellas County. The course heads west on the Clearwater Bridge approach for a short section before the finish line comes into view at Coachman Park.
